Painting skies and clouds in watercolor is an exciting prospect for an artist and the process is made easier by this video of artist Patrick-Ley Greaves. Mixing of colors, developing negative shapes, leaving edges soft and hard as well as working in wet in wet and wet on dry are some of the techniques one can learn from this demonstration. More of his videos at Patrick’s website.

Just practising hard to come to some grips with this most fascinating medium. And also the pink is most alluring.

This one painted using a watercolor reference picture. Though it is not true to the original, I really enjoyed the process, and again quality brushwork eluded me.

An Inspired Work of Art

Watercolor makes you shed tears, but once you come to terms with the medium, it is a rewarding experience. Just as in this painting which is very encouraging for me as a beginner.I hope I had captured the light and atmosphere of the original Milind Mulick’s painting.
